چکیده

The importance of microalgal lipids for the survival and growth shrimp postlarvae has been recognized in a range studies. Microalgae with fast rates high levels polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) are considered vital to maximise production minimise cost larviculture. lipid content acid composition microalgae used varies substantially between algal classes species being Vietnam. This study aims characterise (FA) profiles evaluate most promising under conditions that suitable aquaculture. Here, we report highest contents were obtained Haptophyta microalgae, Tisochrysis lutea Isochrysis galbana, at 90.3 61.1 mg/g, respectively. In contrast, two popular diatom larval cultivation Vietnam, Thalassiosira pseudonana T. weissflogii, displayed lowest 16.1 mg/g. Other examined showed ranging from 28.6 55 Eicosapentaenoic (EPA, 20:5ω3) ranged 0.6 29.9% across species, docosahexaenoic (DHA, 22:6ω3) present 0.01 11.1%; omega (ω)–3 long-chain (LC, ≥C20) LC-PUFA varied groups. Polar main class, 87.2 97.3% total lipids, triacylglycerol was detected 2.5%. Fatty Acid Composition in Microalgae'

The degree of unsaturation of fatty acids was higher in ChIorella vulgaris 1 h cells grown with air (low-CO2 cells) than in the cells grown with air enriched with 2% CO2 (high-CO2 cells). The change in the ratio of linoleic acid to a-linolenic acid was particularly significant. This change of the ratio was observed in four major lipids (monogalactosyldiacylglycerol, digalactosyldiacylglycerol, ...

Isolation and Fatty Acid Profile of Selected Microalgae Strains from the Red Sea for Biofuel Production

The isolation of lipid-rich autochthonous strains of microalgae is a crucial stage for the development of a microalgae-based biofuel production plant, as these microalgae already have the necessary adaptations to withstand competition, predation and the temperatures observed at each production site. This is particularly important in extreme climates such as in Saudi Arabia. Resorting to fluores...

Microalgae for Biofuels and Animal Feeds

The potential of microalgae biomass production for low-cost commodities—biofuels and animal feeds—using sunlight and CO2 is reviewed. Microalgae are currently cultivated in relatively small-scale systems, mainly for high value human nutritional products. For commodities, production costs must be decreased by an order of magnitude, and high productivity algal strains must be developed that can b...

Review: Use of Highly unsaturated fatty acid (HUFA) in Ornamental Fish Feeds

Ornamental fish production, like all other segments of aquaculture, relies heavily on the successful spawning, hatching, and survival of larvae. Little is known about the nutrient requirements of most ornamental fish species. In many cultivars of fishes, such as Ornamental fish, especially in those new Ornamental fish species introduced to the aquaculture industry, the rate of fecundity is an i...
